How Mega Evolution Works

Mega Evolution in Pokemon Champions returns as a core mechanic: a Pokemon holding the right stone (e.g., Charizardite Y) can evolve once per battle at the start of a turn. Stats, sometimes type, and ability change.

Priority: the mega happens before any move that turn
Pre-mega ability ignored: Intimidate before mega does not trigger if you intend to mega
One mega per team (Champions rule)

Mega Charizard Y (Drought + Heat Wave): the most-used mega, Sun archetype anchor.

Mega Gengar (Shadow Tag): traps the opponent, core to Perish Trap.

Mega Greninja (Protean): variable STAB, top in singles.

Mega Aerodactyl (Tough Claws): ignores priority, outspeeds everything.
