Pokemon Champions Predictor: How It Works
Learn how our engine predicts the opponent's moves, items, and leads in Pokemon Champions using 6,364 real replays, a multihead transformer model, and 12,000 simulations.
The V2 engine is a multihead transformer with 4 specialised heads:
Preview head: predicts which 4 the opponent will bring (hit@k 93.7%)
Action head: predicts their move each turn (top-3 62.5%)
Belief head: infers moveset from revealed moves
Value head: win probability (AUC 0.621)
Trained on 101,982 examples from real games + self-play. Win rate calibrated via Platt scaling (ECE 0.014). Each prediction includes confidence intervals and adaptive plans A/B/C based on the opponent's revealed lead.
How to Read a Prediction
Entering the opponent's 6 gives you:
Bring: the 4 most likely Pokemon they will bring
Leads: the most likely opening duo
Moveset per Pokemon: top-6 moves with percentages
Scenarios A/B/C/D: adaptive plan based on which lead they reveal
Your move effectiveness: x2, x0.5, immune (coloured badges)
Low confidence (<60%) means the opponent has many viable sets; play defensively. High confidence (>85%) supports aggressive decisions.
