When to Set Up

In doubles, setting up is riskier than singles because two opponents can attack the setter. Four conditions make set-up viable:

  1. Your partner redirects (Follow Me) or threatens KO
  2. The opponent is Protected or forced to switch
  3. Your Pokemon has Focus Sash or Unburden to tank damage
  4. Trick Room/Tailwind active to move first
